PALS Provider (Initial)

The PALS Provider Course is an advanced course that focuses on Pediatric Pre-Hospital and Emergency patient care. Pre-course preparation, didactic instruction, and active participation in skills stations and simulated cases will be used to enhance the recognition and intervention of respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

 

This class assumes that all students can identify cardiac rhythms.  Please see our BASIC EKG COURSE if you are unfamiliar with the following rhythms…

***sinus rhythm, sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), Torsades de Pointes (TDP), ventricular fibrillation (VF), pulseless electrical activity (PEA), asystole (ASY)***

 

Target Audience:  It is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. Including, but not limited to: EMT, Paramedic, RT, MICN, RN, MD, etc.
